  • A place in a course or program is not guaranteed until payment has been received.
  • Course fees apply to the specific Participant and program for which they were purchased.
  • Fees are generally non-transferable.
  • Discounts and promotional offers may be subject to additional conditions.
  • Outstanding balances must be paid within the timeframe specified by CSC.

CSC reserves the right to suspend participation where fees remain unpaid.

5. COURSE AND PROGRAM CANCELLATION

CSC reserves the right to cancel or postpone a program where there are insufficient enrolments, instructor availability issues, venue issues or other circumstances that make the program impractical to deliver.

Where CSC cancels a program before it begins, CSC may provide one of the following:

  • A transfer to another available program;
  • A credit toward another CSC service; or
  • A refund of the applicable amount paid.

The specific remedy may depend on the circumstances of the cancellation.

6. PARTICIPANT CANCELLATION

Participants should notify CSC as soon as possible if they are unable to attend a program.

Unless a different cancellation policy is stated for a specific program, fees are generally non-refundable once a program has commenced.

Refunds will generally not be provided because of:

  • Failure to attend;
  • Late arrival;
  • Holidays;
  • Travel;
  • Changes to personal schedules;
  • Change of mind;
  • School or work commitments;
  • Failure to complete a course.

CSC may, at its discretion, provide a transfer, credit or make-up opportunity in exceptional circumstances.

7. MISSED CLASSES

Missed classes do not automatically entitle the Participant to a refund or replacement session.

Where reasonably possible, CSC may offer a make-up class or alternative session subject to:

  • Availability;
  • Course structure;
  • Instructor availability;
  • Capacity;
  • The Participant’s circumstances.

Make-up sessions are not guaranteed unless specifically included in the relevant program.

CSC aims to provide personalised and supportive learning. However, CSC does not guarantee a particular academic result, examination grade, school result or level of improvement.

Academic progress depends on many factors, including:

  • Student effort;
  • Independent study;
  • Existing academic ability;
  • School curriculum;
  • Parent or guardian support;
  • Engagement during lessons.

9. PROFESSIONAL COURSES AND WORKSHOPS

Professional courses and workshops are intended to provide practical knowledge, skills and educational development.

Where a course includes a certificate, qualification or recognised credential, CSC will clearly communicate the nature of that certification.

Unless specifically stated, participation in a CSC course does not guarantee:

  • Employment;
  • Promotion;
  • A salary increase;
  • Professional registration;
  • Licensing;
  • University admission;
  • Immigration or visa eligibility;
  • Professional accreditation.

Participants are responsible for determining whether a course or certificate meets the requirements of an employer, educational institution, government agency or professional body.

Where CSC provides a certificate of participation or completion, the Participant may be required to satisfy specific requirements, including:

  • Minimum attendance;
  • Completion of required assignments;
  • Participation in assessments;
  • Completion of practical activities;
  • Payment of all applicable fees.

CSC may decline to issue a certificate where the relevant requirements have not been met.

A CSC certificate confirms the Participant’s participation or completion of the relevant CSC program and does not automatically represent government accreditation or professional licensing unless expressly stated.

11. ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY

Participants are expected to arrive on time and attend all scheduled sessions.

Participants should arrive sufficiently early to prepare for class.

Late arrival may result in the Participant missing part of a lesson or activity.

CSC is not responsible for extending a session because a Participant arrived late.

For programs requiring minimum attendance, absences may affect eligibility for course completion or certification.

12. STUDENT CONDUCT

CSC is committed to providing a safe, respectful and positive learning environment.

Participants must:

  • Treat instructors, staff and other students respectfully;

Any safeguarding concern should be reported to CSC management.

CSC reserves the right to take appropriate action where there is a concern regarding the safety or welfare of a Participant.

15. HEALTH, MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND ACCESSIBILITY

Participants or their parents/guardians should inform CSC of any relevant condition, disability, allergy, learning requirement or other circumstance that may affect participation.

CSC will make reasonable efforts to accommodate disclosed requirements where practical and appropriate.

Participants should not attend a session when they are seriously unwell or when attending could reasonably place themselves or others at risk.

CSC may request that a Participant leave a session where their health or condition presents a reasonable safety concern.

16. EMERGENCIES

In the event of an emergency involving a Participant, CSC may contact the emergency contact provided during registration.

Where reasonably necessary, CSC may contact emergency services or seek appropriate medical assistance.

Parents or guardians authorise CSC to take reasonable emergency steps where a minor Participant requires urgent assistance and the parent or guardian cannot be reached promptly.

Any medical, transportation or emergency expenses remain the responsibility of the Participant or their parent/guardian unless otherwise required by applicable law.

17. LEARNING MATERIALS

  • Community engagement.

Where appropriate, CSC will seek consent for identifiable images of Participants, particularly children and young people.

Parents or Participants who do not wish to appear in promotional photography or video should notify CSC in writing.

CSC will make reasonable efforts to respect such requests.

  • Attempt unauthorised access to systems;
  • Damage or interfere with computer systems;

CSC may restrict access to technology where misuse occurs.

23. ONLINE LEARNING

Where a program is delivered partly or entirely online, Participants are responsible for having suitable:

  • Internet access;
  • Device;
  • Software;
  • Camera or microphone where required.

CSC is not responsible for technical problems caused by the Participant’s device, internet connection or third-party services.

CSC may provide alternative arrangements where an online session is disrupted by a technical issue within CSC’s reasonable control.

26. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

CSC may occasionally work with external instructors, organisations, venues, certification providers or other third parties.

Where a service is provided by a third party, additional terms may apply.

Participants may be required to comply with the terms and conditions of the relevant third-party provider.

CSC will not be responsible for matters that are solely within the control of an independent third-party provider, subject to applicable law.

27. LIABILITY

Participants acknowledge that participation in educational activities involves ordinary risks associated with travel to and from classes, use of facilities, participation in activities and interaction with other Participants.

CSC will take reasonable steps to provide a safe learning environment.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, CSC is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from a Participant’s participation in a program.

28. FORCE MAJEURE

CSC will not be responsible for delays, cancellations or inability to provide services caused by circumstances reasonably beyond its control.

These circumstances may include:

  • Epidemics or pandemics;
  • Other circumstances beyond CSC’s reasonable control.

Where practical, CSC will attempt to reschedule affected sessions or provide an alternative arrangement.
